In Clonk Planet you control clonks that are little human creatures. Clonks can build buildings and gather resources. Some resources you can dig out of the ground like gold, and some resorces you have manufacture. For example if you need wood you have to build a sawmill where clonks bring lumber. The main goal is to get your own civilization of clonks to thrive. By time and doing things your clonks get experience and they will evolve so that they can do more things. This game is endlessly customizable: you can make your own levels and own objects.

Freeciv is a turn-based strategy/simulation. Freeciv is based on the commercially sold game called civilization. In freeciv you are the emperor of your nation and you can build cities, advance technologies and build troops. The essence of this game is fighting other civilizations that compete with you. You may also try diplomacy to get along with your neighbouring nations. There are a couple of ways you can win the game. One is killing all your enemies and the other is building a space ship. You can choose how you are going to try to win! There are also multiplayer options so that you can play this against friends over the internet. On the net there are many servers that you can use for this purpose.

NetStorm is realtime strategy game. Where you fight against enemy priests who are trying to kidnap your priest in order to sacrifice it. In the game, you need energy and raw materials to constuct buildings. You can get energy by constructing certain buildings. You also need raw materials to construct buildings, and so you must also gather resources. Normally your enemy is at a different island than you. Then you must build bridges in order to get there. Your main task is to kidnapp the other players priest and sacrifice it. This game has also a multiplayer mode that you can play over the net.

Savage is real-time strategy / first person shooter game. This game can only be played as a multiplayer game on the net. There are two opposing sides, normally Humans vs. Beasts. Both sides have one commander, who can build different buildings. All the rest players are just fighters who try to destroy the opposing side. By building different buildings your side gets more weapons that you can use to destroy your enemies. The game ends when you have destroyed your enemies' stronghold. Typically there are about 20 people playing on both sides. This is by far one of the best freeware games available and totally worth the download.
